Sire: Rubinero (Oldenburg) out of Numbers Matching (TB)
His sire Rubinstein will be remembered as one of the great sires of the modern day sport horse. He has over 90 approved sons, more than 170 States Premium daughters, and his offspring have won over 2.5 Million Euro in competition. Rubinstein’s damline is particularly noteable. Antine is a full-sister to three-time Olympic competitor, Amon, and two-time Olympic champion, Ahlerich. The World and Olympic Champion Rembrandt is out of a full-sister to Antine and yet another full-sister produced the Danish stallion Romancier.
Rubinero’s damline was developed from many generations of Gestut Vorwerk’s breeding program. Faola passed her Mare Performance Test with an overall score of 8.36, receiving a 9.0 for her willingness to perform, her canter, rideability, free jumping technique and a 10.0 for free jumping ability. Her sire, Ex Libris, sired both jumpers and dressage horses. We see this versatile athleticism continue further back in Rubinero’s pedigree with stallions such as Furioso II, Inschallah AA, and More Magic xx.
At his 70-day test Rubinero was second in the dressage phase with a score of 140.54. He also earned 115 points for the jumping phase, and was third overall. He achieved perfect 10’s for character and rideability, a testament to the wonderful temperament of the Rubinstein line. Rubinero was very successful in his development as a competition horse as well. In 2004 he participated in the Bundeschampionat, earned scores as high as 9.0, and was Reserve Champion at the State Championships in Rastede. In 2005 Rubinero again qualified for the Bundeschampionat for five year old dressage horses and took bronze at the Rastede Championships. He quickly moved up to the Advanced Levels and throughout his career the rideability and feeling he gives each rider has been highly praised. Dawn Bernardo purchased Rubinero late in 2013 and imported him to the US. With Dawn, Rubinero continued his winning ways with scores as high as 72.5% at Intermediaire I. Together they earned the USDF Region 3 Championships at Intermediaire and were Reserve Champions at Prix St. Georges.
